Welcome to Kurwongbah State School.
Kurwongbah State School is a vibrant and inclusive co-educational primary school supporting students from Prep to Year 6.
At Kurwongbah, we believe every child has the capacity to learn, grow and achieve. Our students bring with them their own strengths, interests, experiences and aspirations, and we are committed to providing a safe, supportive and engaging learning environment where every student is known, valued and encouraged to reach their potential.
We have high expectations for both learning and behaviour. Our dedicated staff provide a rigorous, inclusive and engaging curriculum that responds to the individual needs of students while developing the knowledge, skills and confidence they need for future success.
Central to learning at Kurwongbah are our Kurwongbah Keys. The Keys identify the qualities we want our students to develop as learners: Collaborators, Risk Takers, Self Managers, Communicators and Critical Thinkers. These capabilities are explicitly developed across the school, encouraging students to take greater ownership of their learning, embrace challenges, work effectively with others, communicate confidently and think deeply about the world around them.
Our learning culture is complemented by our school values of Caring, Honesty, Resilience, Respect and Excellence. These values guide how we treat one another, the choices we make and the expectations we have for ourselves. Together, our values and Kurwongbah Keys support the development of capable, confident and compassionate young people.
We also recognise that educating a child is a partnership. Strong relationships between students, staff, families and our wider community are fundamental to achieving positive outcomes for our students. We encourage open communication between school and home and warmly invite parents and carers to be active participants in the life of our school.
I am incredibly proud of the commitment of our staff, the enthusiasm of our students and the support of our families. Together, we continue to build a school where students feel a strong sense of belonging, are challenged to achieve their best and are supported to become successful lifelong learners.
I invite you to discover what makes Kurwongbah State School such a special place to learn, grow and belong.
