Morcombes visit Kurwongbah

7/08/2015

The Queensland Government, together with the Daniel Morcombe Foundation, is committed to keeping students safe at school, safe at home, safe in the community and safe online.

On Thursday 6 August Bruce and Denise Morcombe visited Kurwongbah State School to deliver the important message of child safety on behalf of the Daniel Morcombe Foundation. We are very fortunate to have had this visit from the Morcombes. They spoke to all students, emphasizing the three key messages of Recognise, React and Report.

The students were encouraged to discuss these important messages with their families to help promote discussion about safety in the home. More information about the Daniel Morcombe Child Safety Curriculum, including safety resources you can use at home, can be found at www.education.qld.gov.au/child-safety-curriculum. Please follow this link http://www.danielmorcombe.com.au/watch-keeping-kids-safe.html to view the video that was seen at the presentation yesterday (3.3 Safe Internet Use).

Thank you to the Kurwongbah School community for raising $1284 through our Free Dress Day to donate to the Daniel Morcombe Foundation. This will help to support the Morcombes to continue to visit schools around Australia.
